Workshop

Including the diverse range of students in special education settings in a literacy program can be extremely challenging. This presentation will outline a balanced literacy approach that can be used with ALL students to actively intervene and improve their literacy.

Adaptations that may need to be made for students with a range of abilities and disability will be outlined. Multi-level activities that can be implemented with all students in the classroom will also be discussed and supported with video examples. Recent research around whole school model literacy programs for students who struggle with reading and writing will also be covered.

All students, regardless of their abilities, deserve an opportunity to develop their literacy skills to their maximum potential. This presentation will demonstrate how you can help to make that happen.
